June Aerial News

2026

What a show!

Watching everything come together last month was a true reminder of why we do what we do. The final stretch of show prep - the repetition, the notes, the one more time - can test everyone's patience, but the payoff is undeniable. The result was an entertaining, polished, well-presented performance that every single one of you should be proud of.

To every student who stepped up, showed up, and gave it their all: we hope you left that stage feeling the spark. That feeling of stepping into the lights, of all that hard work becoming something beautiful in front of an audience - that's yours. Hold onto it.

Evaluations & Class Placements

Evaluations will take place June 10 - 12. This is a great opportunity to make sure every flyer is set up to grow and thrive at the right level! Depending on attendance, we may extend into the following week.

Class placements will be sent out after coaches have deliberated. In the meantime, please let us know if your child is still planning to participate in the aerial program this upcoming season. Knowing our numbers helps us open spots to other kids who are waiting.

Once placements are finalized, we'll send a Google Form to register for next season's classes, which begin August 5, 2026. Stay tuned!

We can't wait to welcome everyone back to the studio and see all the progress you've made over the summer. Keep up your strength, flexibility, and pull-up training, and we'll see you back in the air soon!

Summer Inspiration

Pull-Ups, Pull-Ups, Pull-Ups!

Pull-ups are one of the most important skills in aerial. Being able to support and control your own body weight helps keep you safe and confident in the air.

Please make pull-ups part of your summer routine! A few reps each day can make a huge difference. Not there yet? Try:

• Dead Hangs – Hang from a bar with straight arms as long as possible.

• Negative Pull-Ups – Start at the top and lower yourself down slowly.

• Band-Assisted Pull-Ups – Use a resistance band for support.

No bar at home? Try a playground, sturdy tree branch, or an inexpensive doorway pull-up bar. Every hang, every rep, and every attempt counts.

Don't Skip the Stretch!

Flexibility is just as important as strength. Keeping up with stretching over the summer will make your return to aerial much easier. Even 10–15 minutes a few times a week helps.

Focus on:

• Shoulders & chest

• Hip flexors

• Hamstrings & splits

• Straddles

Remember:

• Stretch when warm

• Hold stretches up to 30 seconds

• Never push into pain

A little consistency goes a long way.

See you in August strong, flexible, and ready to fly!

Evaluations

Evaluations and class placements will take place in the second week of June. This is a great opportunity to ensure every flyer is at the right level to grow and thrive! Following evaluations, all families will receive a letter with their child's results and class placement.

Reminders

  • Attendance: We are beginning choreography, which is an exciting and important phase of the season. Because choreography decisions are made in real time, students who are unable to attend regularly may fall behind or need to step out of the portion of the routine currently being worked on.

  • Aerial Attire - The safest and most effective aerial outfit is a leotard with a fitted long-sleeve top and ankle-tight leggings. Loose shirts can ride up during training, which becomes a safety hazard when students let go of the silks to pull them down.

  • Please remove all jewelry before class.

  • Keep nails trimmed and smooth, as long nails can catch or tear the fabric.
